About.The Jaycees were founded by Henry Giessenbier in St. Louis, MO, in 1915. Henry believed that young people could change the world, and he was right! Young active citizens continue to come together around the world, united by one common goal--to create positive change.

Established in 1938The Sheridan Jaycees have been the local chapter of JCI since 1938. The Sheridan Jaycees are one of four chapters in the State of Wyoming.

Our MeetingsMembership meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6pm. Meetings consist of project planning, membership development, training opportunities, and community speakers. Prospective members are encouraged to attend to learn more about our organization.

History of JCI1915-Henry Giessenbier founded the Jaycees in St. Louis, MO
1920-The US Junior Chamber was formed 1923-Get Out the Vote was the first national Jaycee program 1927-Jaycee member Charles A Lindbergh made the first solo flight between New York and Paris 1936-The US Junior Chamber aids in establishing the National Wildlife Federation 1938-The Sheridan Jaycees chapter was formed 1944-Junior Chamber International (JCI) was formed in Mexico City 1947-Adoption of the Jaycee Creed 1959-Jaycee efforts help support statehood for Alaska 1972-Five million stickers were distributed through Operation Red Ball to reduce fire fatalities 1984-Bylaws were changed to admit women as regular members 1996-The Jaycees Wake Up America Tour visited all 48 contiguous states to encourage young people to have a voice 2000-First female National President 2001-The name was changed to The United States Junior Chamber 2002-JCI Headquarters was relocated to St. Louis, MO 2015-JCI celebrated 100 years of impact 2020-JCI USA will celebrate its 100th anniversary |
